About Beds for Kids
Beds for Kids started on March 1, 2018 after The Shepherd’s House Congregation realized there was a huge opportunity to serve our community.
As of January 2024 we have delivered 608 beds to children who are sleeping on the floor, a blow-up mattress, the couch, or with a parent.
We have a passion for spreading the love of Jesus through this ministry. We want to let families know there is hope beyond their current situation!
Our Vision
Our vision is to let the families know that Jesus loves them and is working through this program to meet their need of a bed. We want the children to know that they matter and are worthy enough to sleep on a brand new bed of their own!
Our Mission
Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of children who are currently sleeping on the floor by gifting them a bed that will help them feel dignified.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I get a bed for my child?
A referral must be made to our program in order for your child/children to receive a bed. If you do not have a referral, please submit your request below and we will review it.
Where can I get a referral?
Contact your social/case worker, teacher, guidance counselor, or other agency that you are working with who can refer your need to us.
Do you only provide beds to kids? Or can adults get a referral, too?
We only provide beds to kids. On a rare occasion we may provide a bed to an elderly adult with a referral.
What is included with the bed?
Each child receives a brand new twin size frame, box spring, mattress, mattress pad, sheets, pillow, and comforter.

We deliver the 2nd Sunday of every month.

Yes! Sleep in Heavenly Peace has locations in Eau Claire, Edgerton, La Crosse, Portage, Racine/Kenosha, Spencer, Trempealeu, and Waukesha.
Do you accept donations of beds?
No. We are unable to accept donations of beds, new or used, because we don’t have anywhere to store them. Thank you for thinking of us, though!

“I wanted to thank the Beds for Kids Program for helping me and my kids out with the two twin beds. My place consisted of nothing more than bare walls and my clothes until friends, family members, co-workers, friends of friends, and community agencies started letting me know what they had available and started bringing it over. The beds for my girls were something that I was having a hard time finding/affording, so when everyone arrived with all of the things for my kids to have a place to sleep I was overjoyed. I couldn’t believe how perfect everything was. The girls LOVE the bedding and they are thrilled to have their own beds. I could not be more thankful for the help that I have received and I will forever be grateful for it. Please extend my thanks to all who have helped out and to those who have made it possible for this program to exist.”
